Guides
Everything you need to send push notifications to your iPhone with NTFY me, whether you use the free ntfy-me.com server or run your own.
Which server should I use?
NTFY me works with ntfy-me.com out of the box, and with any ntfy server you run yourself. Most people should start with ntfy-me.com.

Common questions
Do I need the official ntfy app too?
No. NTFY me is a complete ntfy client for iPhone and iPad. It is a separate, community-maintained app built on the open-source ntfy iOS client, and it has its own push channel, so it gets instant notifications from ntfy-me.com and from servers that relay to ntfy-me.com.
Can I keep using my ntfy.sh topics?
You can subscribe to them, but ntfy.sh sends instant pushes only to the official ntfy app. In NTFY me, ntfy.sh topics update when you open the app or a topic. To get banners, move the topic to ntfy-me.com: the migration guide takes about 5 minutes.
Does Apple or Google see my messages?
No. The push that wakes your phone carries only a topic identifier and a message ID. The app then fetches the message itself from the server over HTTPS. Messages sent with a topic password are encrypted before they leave the sender, so the server only ever holds ciphertext. Details: Privacy Policy.
What about Android, desktop and the web?
ntfy-me.com is a standard ntfy server. Use the web app in any browser, or the ntfy Android app with https://ntfy-me.com as the server. Any tool that publishes to ntfy (curl, the ntfy CLI, Home Assistant, Uptime Kuma, scripts) works too: use ntfy-me.com wherever its docs say ntfy.sh.
Notifications aren't arriving. What do I check?
- iPhone Settings → Notifications → NTFY me: Allow Notifications is on.
- The topic in the app and the URL you send to match exactly, including the server (
https://ntfy-me.com/your-topic). - Open the topic in the app. If the message is there but no banner appeared, it is a notification setting; if it isn't there, the message never reached the server.
- On your own server, work through self-hosting troubleshooting.
